CARE & REPAIR

On 28 November, Black Friday takes over worldwide: a day when wishlists turn into shopping carts, driven by artificial discounts that encourage impulse buying. But what may seem like a bargain for you often comes at a high cost to the environment.
That’s why Xandres chooses Green Friday each year — a more sustainable alternative. On this day, we deliberately close our webshop and stores and bring all our employees together in our workshop to repair collected, damaged garments from our customers free of charge.

What is Xandres doing?
CLOSING THE STORES AND WEBSHOP ON BLACK FRIDAY
We’ve been offering a free, lifelong repair service for your Xandres garments for many years. On Green Friday, we put this service in the spotlight. All our customers are invited to bring their damaged Xandres garments to our stores.
On that day, we bring our entire team together to repair these pieces and to take part in workshops on repair and care.
What can you do?
DON'T THROW AWAY DAMAGED CLOTHES
HAVE THEM REPAIRED BY XANDRES INSTEAD
Take good care of your clothes with these tips to make them last even longer:
#1 Don't wash your clothes too often, do not use fabric softener and wash at a low temperature. Don't overfill your washing machine and wash your clothing inside out.
#2 Dry your clothes on a drying rack but not in full sun. Knitwear is best dried flat.
#3 Use coat hangers with wide shoulders so your items keep their shape.
EACH ITEM MENDED = 1 TREE IN THE XANDRES FOREST
Last year, we repaired 521 items for Green Friday and planted 1,000 mangrove trees in our Xandres forest in Madagascar through Go Forest. This year, we’re once again planting a tree for every repair, giving back to nature. Give your garments a second life and enjoy your Xandres pieces for even longer!
