CARE & REPAIR

It is Black Friday worldwide on 29 November, when wish lists disappear into shopping baskets en masse, tempted by artificial discounts that push impulse purchases to the limit. But what seems like a lower price tag for you comes at a high cost to the environment. That is why Xandres opts for Green Friday as a more sustainable alternative every year. A day when we deliberately close our webshop and stores and gather all our employees in our workshop to repair collected, damaged clothes from our customers for free.

What is Xandres doing?

CLOSING THE STORES AND WEBSHOP ON BLACK FRIDAY

Mending your clothes for free for life, we’ve been doing that for years. For Green Friday, we are highlighting this service, and all our customers can bring their damaged Xandres clothes to our shops. On Green Friday, we will get all our employees together to repair them and attend workshops on repair & care.

What can you do?

DON'T THROW AWAY DAMAGED CLOTHES
HAVE THEM REPAIRED BY XANDRES INSTEAD

Take good care of your clothes with these tips to make them last even longer:

#1 Don't wash your clothes too often, do not use fabric softener and wash at a low temperature. Don't overfill your washing machine and wash your clothing inside out.
#2 Dry your clothes on a drying rack but not in full sun. Knitwear is best dried flat.
#3 Use coat hangers with wide shoulders so your items keep their shape.

EACH ITEM MENDED = 1 TREE IN THE XANDRES FOREST

Last year, we repaired 447 items for Green Friday and planted 1,000 mangrove trees in our Xandres forest in Madagascar through Go Forest. This year too, we are planting a tree for every repair, giving something back to nature. Give your clothing a second life and enjoy your purchases even longer!
