XANDRES LAB
XANDRES LAB
THE XANDRES LAB FOR INNOVATION IS ALL ABOUT EXPERIMENTING AND PUSHING BOUNDRIES. OUR RICH HERITAGE HAS NEVER STOPPED US FROM MOVING FORWARD — OR RATHER, COMING FULL CIRCLE. WHILE CREATING A PERFECTLY CLOSED SYSTEM MAY BE AN ELUSIVE GOAL, WE ARE ACTIVELY EXPLORING PROJECTS AND LAUNCHING EXPERIMENTS TO CLOSE OUR LOOP.
The term "Lab" is a fusion of "collab", symbolizing collaboration, and "laboratory", representing experimentation. Within the theoretical framework of circular economy, there is no waste and clothing finds new purpose at the end of its lifecycle. While it may be impossible for a brand like Xandres to fully achieve this ideal, we are actively pursuing solutions, such as reusing leftover fabrics.
In addition to collaborating with research organizations on forward-thinking projects, we also partner with innovative, purpose-driven brands and designers. We support like-minded labels by providing a platform, because we firmly believe that together, we can learn, grow, and create a greater impact.

SS23 | LIMITED EDITION KAFTAN
MADE TO LOVE

FW22 | XANDRES BY KOMRADS
SMALL FOOTPRINT,
BIG STEP
Stylish, Belgian and made 100% vegan from recycled materials: our latest limited edition collab with sneaker label Komrads proves that fashion and innovative entrepreneurship go hand in hand. Together we developed a contemporary sneaker in apple leather, made of residual waste from the apple processing industry.
FW21 | FISH LEATHER WALLET

INFINITEX (2023-2025)
WHERE FASHION BEGINS A SECOND, THIRD, FOURTH… LIFE IN FLANDERS
Infinitex is a VLAIO-funded Living Lab in which knowledge institution Thomas More collaborates with various partners to develop circular business models that extend the lifespan of clothing. That’s why Xandres launched a research project in 2023 together with Thomas More, focusing on rental and second-hand models. Shortly after, the decision was made to introduce a first test with our own second-hand offer.
SCIRT(2021-2024)
SYSTEM CIRCULARITY AND INNOVATIVE RECYCLING OF TEXTILES
Xandres has been a partner in the SCIRT project, an innovative research project on textile-to-textile recycling for post-consumer clothing. A complete recycling system was developed thanks to SCIRT, a partnership between the fashion industry and the research community.
