HOW DID YOUR PASSION FOR FASHION ARISE?
“I owe that to my mother. Not only did she dress me extremely well as a child, she also taught me how to look at myself at an early age, taught me to appreciate myself.’

“Self-confidence and peace of mind.’
THE UPCYCLED DENIM JACKET IS DESIGNED AND MADE IN BELGIUM, HOW IMPORTANT IS IT FOR YOU TO REPRESENT BELGIAN BRANDS?
“Belgium has huge talent and potential. When a design originates and is made in our country, it's another step forward to living more consciously. So for me, as a stylist, it is definitely important that I can show the wider public what Belgian fashion has to offer, and that I can be a part of it.’
WHAT APPEALS TO YOU ABOUT XANDRES AND UPCYCLED PROJECTS LIKE THIS ONE?
“A brand like Xandres is appealing to me because I see that it makes thoughtful choices in terms of colours, materials and variety in its collections. The focus on innovation and how they involve customers in this is one of them.’
HOW DO YOU TRY TO BE MORE FASHION CONSCIOUS?
“I've been a conscious shopper for years. Everyone assumes a stylist has an overflowing wardrobe, but that’s not true in my case. I prefer to spend a bit more on good, quality items that I can combine in multiple ways, so they last a long time."
WHICH ITEMS FROM THE FALL-WINTER COLLECTION ARE YOUR FAVOURITES?
"Without a doubt the short leather jacket! I also really like the catchy accessories: the metallic belt, cashmere scarves in poppy colours and the handbags in an easy-to-use size."
WHY DID YOU CHOOSE THIS LOOK TO COMBINE WITH THE DENIM JACKET?
“I love tonal looks. They make me feel very comfortable and fit my character perfectly. With a look like this, you can let certain accessories or one item speak for itself while keeping balance in the outfit. The denim jacket also has the ideal hip length: if you go for an eye-catching belt or wear the jacket closed and cinch your waist, it will show off your feminine curves beautifully.”

IN WHAT WAYS DO YOU STEP OUT OF YOUR COMFORT ZONE WITH CLOTHES?
“As a stylist, I tend to go in all directions, but I always start from the personality of the person I am dressing. Some clients want to create a completely different persona from their everyday look, while others want to stay true to their style.
Personally, I like to see how I can bring variation to my outfits from time to time. Unexpected colour combinations, trying a new print – something I don't usually choose, but combined with the beautiful cut of the denim jacket, I think it's a successful look.”
