Covered in soft cashmere:

a mid-season essential

Cashmere is an incredibly soft, fine wool. It is spun from the undercoat of the cashmere goat and feels incredibly soft and smooth. Cashmere can be worn year round: it keeps you warm in the winter months, and the knitwear feels refreshingly airy in the summertime. This makes cashmere a must-have item in your wardrobe, perfect for the off-season.

Some cashmere tips & tricks

This summer collection contains quality knitwear you will wear for years— especially if you keep the following tips in mind:

  • Always wash cashmere by hand or use the wool setting of your washing machine.
  • Use cold water, no hotter than 30°C.
  • Use laundry detergent sparingly and do not run the spin cycle or wring the garment out.
  • The best drying method is to lie your cashmere clothing flat on a hand towel.

Did you know...

  • Cashmere wool is named after the Kashmir region, which encompasses parts of India, Pakistan and China. The original cashmere goats come from this general area.
  • Cashmere is one of the most expensive natural fibres because the sought-after, fine, soft fibers are found only in the goats’ undercoat and only 150 grams can be harvested at a time.
  • No other natural material has such impressive thermal properties, such a pleasant feel on the skin and lasts for so long.
  • The price of cashmere depends on the grade of the wool, the length of the fibre, how frizzy it is and the colour.
  • The woollier and hairier the knit, the greater the risk of pilling. This has nothing to do with poor quality, but with the properties of the cashmere wool.
  • Each season, Xandres introduces new, colourful cashmere jumpers and scarves to its collection.
