2024 at Xandres
Bringing people together, mending clothes, workshops on sustainability
Xandres is colouring Black Friday green for the fourth year in a row. On 29 November, we will once again close all our stores and the webshop, and lovingly repair all the clothes you brought in. A bold statement, turning a black day into an opportunity to cherish what we already have, and extend its life.
1 ITEM MENDED = 1 TREE IN THE XANDRES FOREST
Like last year, Xandres is partnering with Go Forest, a social enterprise that offers businesses and individuals an accessible way to engage in nature restoration and reforestation. For every repair, we plant a tree in the already existing ‘Xandres forest’, planted in Madagascar last Green Friday. That forest has since grown to 1,000 mangrove trees, thanks in part to the 447 garments we fixed then. We hope to plant at least as many again this year.
WORKSHOPS AT THE XANDRES ATELIER
Bringing people together, mending clothes, workshops on sustainability
Xandres will bring all its employees together at its workshop in Destelbergen on Green Friday to support the couture team with repairs. Family members and friends who can sew are also welcome to help. The whole day is dedicated to sustainability, and we also have various workshops for the team.
This day—on which Xandres is closing its shops and lobbying for sustainable, circular fashion, bringing people and generations together, sharing knowledge and giving workshops—is a warm message to others to do the same.
